What I harvested today

Just had a lovely tea of fried pentland javelin spuds with pak choi, garlic scapes and ham all from todays harvest apart from the ham of course. The photos show all of these before cooking plus radish sofia which I bought the seeds from lidl they are very tasty and big . This was also the first time I have ate garlic scapes and they are absolutely delicous just a shame I have to wait another year before I get to harvest some more!

Still busy planting out

The weather has been fantastic this week with warm days and mild nights!
I have planted out swede invitation first time growing it so hope it all goes well, also planted out b and q kids sweetcorn jubilee F1. The kids packets are only 79p compared to £1.39 for normal packets of same seed with same amout in, the only difference is you get a kiddie picture on packet! I have also planted French marigolds and nasturtium in bed where I have jeruselem artichokes growing, the theory being the artichokes will grow up while the others act as ground cover and help keep the blackfly off my broad beans and other veg as well as looking attractive. We went to TJ Hughes today and I saw one of those topsy turvy tomatoe planters for £2.49 so could not resist and bought one I have planted a fantasio tomatoe in it so I hope it works but as I have said in previous posts nothing ventured nothing gained.

I hope you enjoyed my previous post with all the pictures of various things in flower on our plot. Anna has been as busy as ever with the watering can, she does all the jobs I hate like weeding and watering which I am really grateful for.

Last but not least a picture of my celeriac taken today which is making good progress I think, to be honest I have not got a clue as I have never grown it before!!!

Edit forgot to add I have been eating first early rocket spuds and pak choi today, forgot to take photo as they were in my stomach by the time I remembered!
